COVID-19 RAPID TESTING KITS -- INSTRUCTIONS / STEPS FOR EMS PROVIDERS
  1. Rapid-Covid 19 Testing – Standing Order
    1. Document should be completed and signed by OLMD

    2. Document returned to Region 2 Office by 2pm CST on 12.02.2020
    3. Designation of EMS Service POC (Point of Contact)
 
  1. BinaxNOW Training and Testing Protocol
    1. EMS Provider must have all designated personnel complete BinaxNOW Training and Testing Protocol

  1. Roster – BinaxNOW COVID-19 Training Video Modules
    1. Return roster to Region 2 to apace.ems@centurytel.net or fax to 205.763.8402

  1. Coordinate Pick-up of BinaxNOW COVID-19 Testing Kits/Rapid Point of Care Test Result Cards
    1. Schedule Pick up of BinaxNOW Covid-19 Testing Kits and BinaxNOW Rapid Point of Care Test Results Cards with the Region.
    2. Allocation shall be based on availability of kits for the 5 week period.
  2. Receipt – BinaxNOW COVID-19 Testing Kits
    1. Sign the receipt at the Region 2 office
  3. Testing EMS Provider Personnel
    1. Use cards for each person (Link to Copy of Test Result Card)
    2. Keep original card and have individual take a picture with their phone after each test so they have documentation with them on calls;
    3. Keep an Accounting of test kits used (lInk for Accounting report);
    4. Send Accounting Report of the previous weeks testing to Region 2 Weekly by close of business each Tuesday;
    5. Report any POSITIVE TESTS using COVID-19 Report Card;

Interstate Compact for EMS Personel
The EMS Compact Commission approved use of the EMS Compact process effective Monday March 16, 2020 in response to personnel needs associated with COVID-19. This decision enables EMS personnel licensed in Compact member states (home states) to cross state borders using a privilege to practice and work in other Compact states (remote state) without getting an EMS license in the remote state
